Oral Presentations

Oral presentations will be 15 minutes, with 5 minutes for discussion. Support available for audiovisual aids in all lecture rooms includes overhead projector, 50 x 50 mm slide projector, PC with MS Office 2000 version of Power Point. Participants wishing to use any additional audiovisual aids should contact the Congress Secretariat to establish feasibility prior to their arrival in Lahti. Additional equipment will be charged for.

The PowerPoint submission is now closed. Please bring your presentation to the Scientific Programme Office.

Bring back-up copy of your presentation with you to the meeting on either a disk or CD-ROM! It is also highly recommended yhat you have a back up of your presentation in the form of overhead transparencies.

PLEASE NOTE! The Scientific Programme Office is open during the same hours as the Registration. Contrary to the information given before, ONLY those delegates with slides or with a power point presentation that has not been submitted to the Secretariat prior to the congress, are asked to visit the Scientific Programme Office after registering. The Power Point presentation and slides mus be brought to the Office at least 24 hours before your presentation. All delegates giving a presentation are asked to report to the corresponding session chairperson 10 minutes before the start of the session.

Speakers with slides will be told in the Scientific Programme Office where and when to report prior to their presentation. Slides must bear the author's name and be numbered consecutively in the upper right hand corner.

Speaker Ready Rooms will be located in the City Theatre and Fellmanni Congress Centre for speakers to preview their materials and run-through their presentations. These rooms will be open the same hours as the Registration and Information Office.

Poster Presentations

The posters will be located in the Fellmanni Congress Centre and the Adult Education Centre. Poster sessions will take place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 17.00 to 19.00. Authors are encouraged to be available for discussion purposes during these poster session times and are also required to be present throughout the relevant poster session.

The posters will be displayed in two shifts and changed on Tuesday 10th August 2004. Each author's presentation is assigned a number according to presentation topic (delegates' poster numbers are available from the Scientific Programme Office if needed) and should be set up on the poster board bearing the corresponding number. The poster boards are numbered sequentially. First shift posters (Mon-Tue, 1-196) may be set up on Sunday, 8th of August, from 15.00 to 18.00 hrs or Monday, 9th of August, from 8.00 to 10.00 hrs. First shift posters must be removed on Tuesday, 10th of August, between 19.00 and 21.00 hrs. Second shift posters (Thu-Fri, 197-371) may be set up on Wednesday, 11th of August, from 17.00 to 19.00 hrs or Thursday, 12th of August, from 8.00 to 10.00 hrs. Second shift posters must be removed on Friday, 13th of August, between 19.00 to 21.00 hrs. Participants are responsible for putting their posters on display and removing them. The organizers will provide the equipment needed for mounting posters. If the presenting author has not removed the poster by designated time, the organisers may discard it.

Poster boards are 95 cm wide x 115 cm high. Posters must display a title (letters min. 30 mm high) with names and addresses of the authors (letters 15 mm high). All other lettering and symbols should not be less than 10 mm high. Participants are responsible for putting their posters on display and removing them. The organizers will provide the equipment needed for mounting posters.
