Travel Information

Finland is easily accessible from all over the word. International airlines have regular flights to Helsinki from Europe, Asia, the United States and Australia and other parts of the world. There are excellent connections by bus direct from the international Helsinki-Vantaa airport taking only 1.5 hours, and numerous daily bus and train connections from the centre of Helsinki to Lahti. Links for more detailed information can be found on Coming to the Congerss -page.

Finnish Visa Formalities

EU citizens and most other foreign nationals need no entry visa to Finland. Please contact your travel agent or the nearest Finnish embassy or consulate for more detailed information.

Electrical Appliances

The electrical current in Finland is 230V (50 Hz). Plugs and sockets are the same as in the continental countries of the European Union. Should your equipment require a different voltage, an electrical transformer will be needed.

Climate and Dress

Finnish weather in August can be variable. Sunny and rainy days are equally possible with temperatures up to 20°C or more. Delegates are advised to bring rain gear and sweaters for the excursions.

Casual dress is acceptable for all but the most formal occasion, the City Reception.
